Before Scheduling

1

Confirm countertops are installed first

Range slides into place against countertop. Counters must be done before range delivery.

2

Verify haul-away is included

Many retailers offer free haul-away. If not, arrange junk removal separately ($50-$100 per appliance).

3

Check installation included

Basic hookup often included. Gas ranges and hardwired dishwashers may require separate installer.

4

Measure doorways and paths

Refrigerators are the trickiest. Measure door widths, turning radius, and any tight spots.

What to Prepare Before Delivery Day

  • Clear the path: From front door to kitchen. Move rugs, furniture, fragile items.
  • Protect floors: Lay cardboard or drop cloths. Delivery crews move fast.
  • Empty old appliances: All food out of fridge, nothing in dishwasher.
  • Disconnect old appliances: Turn off water to ice maker, unplug old units. Or have installer do it.
  • Have someone home: Delivery windows are 4 hours. Plan to be available.

Delivery Day Checklist

  • □ Inspect boxes for damage before signing
  • □ Verify correct models were delivered
  • □ Watch installers level the refrigerator and range
  • □ Test all appliances before crew leaves
  • □ Keep all documentation and warranty cards
  • □ Take photos of model numbers and serial numbers

Pro Tips

  • Schedule all for same day if possible: One disruption instead of many.
  • Request first delivery of the day: Less likely to have delays from earlier stops.
  • Don't sign until you inspect: Damage claims are hard after you've signed acceptance.
  • Leave refrigerator upright 24 hours: If tipped during delivery, oil needs to settle before plugging in.
